21st June 2022 was a special day for the Manjri Village – located on the outskirts of Pune City. Today, the village was blessed with a gift that only grows with time – an international school that promises excellence in education coupled with excellence in character.
Sadhu Vaswani Mission, with the beginning of the academic year 2022-23, held the inauguration of a new block at the Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul, Manjri. The inaugural was done on 21st June 2022 with havan, prayers, kirtan in the presence of Didi Krishna Kumari, Dr. Manju Nichani, Ruby Karna, Mission officials, school staff and volunteers. The newly admitted children and their parents also attended and partook in the blessings of the sacred ceremony.
The grades that the school will cater to in the current academic year include Nursery to Class 4th. A total of 300 students are enrolled in the school.
Dr. Manju Nichani, Executive Director, Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul Manjri, in the welcome address said, “It was Beloved Dada’s dream that every village should be rejuvenated, should become an ideal village and by it, he meant that the village should keep its culture alive, stay connected to its roots. Therefore, we endeavour to educate the children to keep them at par with the modern world and yet help them remain connected to the roots of their village. Manjri is the first school started in a village during the lifetime of Beloved Dada and in adherence to his ideals, we aspire to give them the right education where we educate the head, hand, and the heart.”
This was followed by Didi Krishna Kumari’s short talk wherein she said, “Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani, whenever a school would be inaugurated, would say, ‘a child is born today’. In a family, when a child is born he becomes the source of happiness, the centre of focus for everyone in the family. Today, it’s the same for us. This school, Sadhu Vaswani International School, Manjri, is being started with immense hope. We believe that education must teach one to lead a life. Unless one knows to lead a good life, he/she cannot experience true success. one may have lots of money and have the highest position but true success is when one has peace of mind and knows to be steady in the storms of life. This is the purpose of the school; to awaken the inner shakti within each child so that they may experience true success. Another essential aspect is to inculcate the attitude of service in them so that they learn to give.”
She concluded her address by urging the teachers to take this responsibility in their stride and live by the ideals of the Masters “for children”, she said, “are great imitators and they emulate what we do more than what we say.”
